Amazingly, these turtles are some of the oldest creatures on Earth, with fossils dating back 150 million years. They can stay underwater for up to 5hrs and travel almost 10,000 miles per year.

Howl.
Had fun with the fur on this one. It's a common myth that wolves howl at the moon. Wolves howl to communicate with one another, whether it's to locate pack members, defend territory, or find a mate. On a flat landscape, a wolf's howl can be heard up to 9 miles away.

Elephant.
Drawn from a photo I took while visiting an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. You can tell the African savanna elephants from the Asian forest species by the bump on their head (asian = 2 bumps, african = 1 bump) or the relative size of their ears (asian = smaller)

Selenology
I drew this as a present for a friend who studies the geology of the Moon. As someone who still loves astronomy, it was very interesting (but difficult) to draw! 🌚🌜 ~22hrs.

Drawn in situ in Da Lat, Vietnam, at the temple on the hill at the top of town. The text translates to "Vietnamese Buddhism".

Unstarry Night.
A copy... of a copy... of one of the world's most recognisable paintings. Done by Vincent Van Gogh around 1889 using a reed pen, titled "Cypresses in Starry Night". The tree is a Cypress tree, which were associated with death in European culture -- they appear in a lot of Van Gogh's paintings. Some think The Starry Night was influenced by photographs through a telescope of spiral galaxies that had been published in popular media of the time.
